The first Sunday

Phew, we made it to camp this weekend. Saturday was spent putting those huge piles of wood into the dumpster from the remodel demo. The piles had been sitting in various places on the lawn since early January but there's no rush right? Well, the carpenter ants aren't too happy with us right now but that's an entirely different entry....

Sunday we loaded up and headed north. It was warm and sunny and I was sure the water would be too cold for play. Uh uh. No way. The dogs started us off with a direct route from the car to the water at mach 3 mode. The three boys joined them as soon as they changed into their new trunks.

At one point, D-Money, Songbird's oldest, stopped in his tracks, turned to all of us up on the beach and proclaimed:

"Ahhh, there's nothing better than water in your shorts."

Amen brotha!

Oh I miss camping! My best trip was when I went to the UP of Michigan (the non-hand part of the state) and just sat in the wilderness, went kayaking, and had to go through scary woods to find the porto-potty (scary woods+new releasal of Blair Wich Project(late 90's)= Scared shitless at night) Otherwise good times.
